I posted this on Facebook yesterday in response to the Ottawa terror attack.
Canadians like to think ours is a “peaceable kingdom,” insulated from things like terrorism. Days like today remind us, however, that sin and evil are universal problems. Yet as pervasive as sin and evil are, God’s sovereignty stretches still further. Justice will be done in the end, and not by the feeble hands of men.
What are Christians to think and do in response to the deadly realities of life in a fallen world? The ultimate answer to terrorism remains the Gospel. Only God can change the twisted hearts of men through the Holy Spirit on account of what Christ did on the Cross. And so the Christian response to sin and evil, even to terrorism, is missions and evangelism.
